MOURNIN' DOVE was founded by brothers Aaron Lewis (guitar/songwriter) and Todd Lewis (drums/percussion) and completely by the addition of Ed White (vocals/bass). Inspired by a wide range of various musical artists Mournin' Dove has crafted their own sound by blending original hard-hitting rock and melancholy melodies with a touch of pop.
MOURNIN' DOVE was formed in 1994 and played their first show outside the main gates of the WOODSTOCK II festival held in Saugerties, NY. Since then, MOURNIN' DOVE has gained a large and loyal following in the Albany/Saratoga regions of NY, performed many dates across the Northeast, and did a small tour in Southern California. Other highlights for the band have included: winning 'Best New Band' at Glens Falls, New York's SUPERJAM '97, meeting James Brown during their Southern California tour, and performing at the famed 'ROXY' club in West Hollywood.
Now, after the release and success of three independent maxi-singles: Mournin' Dove (1995), Heavy Down (1997), and Four Winds Material (1998), Mournin' Dove is releasing Slow Dance On The Killing Floor, their first full length CD.
The heavy, yet delicate sounds and songs on Slow Dance On The Killing Floor will give Mournin' Dove's fans what they've been longing for. It will also undoubtedly show many others why MOURNIN' DOVE is rising fast to become one of the most promising original Hard Rock groups to emerge from upstate NY.
